The story wreath has been a part of Arts In Reach programs since the very beginning, 21 years ago. Though the tradition has evolved over the years the connection between teens past and present continues to grow. Each piece of yarn that is tied or woven into the wreath represents a time when an AIR teen or staff has shared a thought, feeling, or story with the group. In recent years, the story wreath is most often brought to our showcase days to help teens and staff set intentions or reflect on the program they are completing.
This past showcase we used the story wreath to set our intentions for the day. Becca, our program director, prompted the group with the question, ‘what would you like to give the group today in order to have a successful showcase day?’
