BE AN INTERN FOR “SUMMER ARTWORKS” IN JULY

A two-week visual art program with a focus on community and art integration. Teens and local artists will focus on creating an incredible visual community arts piece which illustrates the Woman: Revealed theme! Despite being guided by staff and artists, teens will develop their own style as they enjoy the creative process and share their individual art with new AIR friends, and mentors.

INTERNSHIPS AVAILABLE!!
Runs July 9---July 20; Monday through Friday; 9AM--3PM. in Portsmouth, NH. AIR is looking for visual art majors or female mentors to assist as interns during its two week summer program for teens. Students will work alongside teaching artists and AIR staff to assist teenage girls in individual art projects as well as mentor teens daily. This is excellent field experience working for an art based non-profit and looks great on a resume. AIR will work with interns to create a volunteer schedule during the summer that meets their academic/professional commitments.

BE AN INTERN FOR “SUMMER SONGWORKS” IN JULY

A two-week songwriting program for teens that focuses on writing, singing, music style and genres.
Teens will write original songs and record them at a professional recording studio! Professional
musicians and songwriters will work with teens on developing methods of songwriting and vocal
strength while exploring a variety of musical genres. AIR teens will collaborate in small groups to create
their own original songs and each girl will learn techniques in songwriting that will encourage her to
continue writing music and lyrics on her own.

Runs July 23---Aug 3 8:30am—3:30pm in Dover, NH. AIR is looking for voice and music majors or female mentors to assist as interns during its two week songwriting intensive programs for teens. Students will work alongside musicians and AIR staff to coach teenage girls in singing and songwriting as well as mentor teens in daily. This is excellent field experience working for an art based non-profit and looks great on a resume. AIR will work with interns to create a volunteer schedule during the week that meets their academic/professional commitments.

BE AN INTERN FOR “SUMMER THEATREWORKS” IN AUGUST

A two-week vacation program. Teens star in the world premiere of a play that they pen! Developing
skills in acting, dancing, and writing, under the guidance of professional performance artists, girls learn
how to pull an entire original show together will fellow AIR teens. Participants explore how to dramatize
their own creative writings and express their life experiences on stage through poetry, music, and
monologues. Exploring different styles of theatre and dance, Theatreworks teens will create an original
production performed in an outdoor venue during the Woman: Revealed showcase in August.

INTERNSHIPS AVAILABLE!!
Runs August 6—August 17 from 8:30am—3:30pm in Rollinsford, NH (near Dover). AIR is looking for theater and dance majors or female mentors to assist as interns during its two week performance intensive programs for teens. Students will work alongside artists and AIR staff to coach teenage girls in acting, dance and performance as well as mentor teens daily. This is excellent field experience working for an art based non-profit and looks great on a resume. AIR will work with interns to create a volunteer schedule during the week that meets their academic/professional commitments.

There Are Many Ways to Help

Office Support - AIR has a variety of projects in the office for volunteers including data entry, grant research, filing, mailing preparation, event planning, website and social media updates, photo organization. We try to match work with your interests, skills, and availability. Desired skills include: proficiency in Microsoft office suite of computer programs; interest in the arts, youth development, and non-profit development; good phone skills and creative writing skills. Office shifts are flexible!

Events Committee - AIR is planning exciting events for Fall 2011. If you are creative, connected, or would like to help in a way that can best utilize your skills, give us a shout. These event are sure to be our biggest and most exciting ever and we need some committee members who want to help launch a new and excting event. Join our next meeting to see where you fit in.

Pro Bono Projects - When you offer your services to AIR, we can direct more funds to providing enriching programs for teen girls who have a real need for positive adult role models, mentoring, and a safe setting where they can express their individuality!
