AIR Poetry
Here are a few poems from the Poets of Air poetry collection,
The Place
in the Mirror, The Place in the Pond.
My Eyes Draw to the Edge of the World
I am Icarus,
flying too close
to the sun.
The sun melts, not the wax,
but the bitter cold.
No matter where I stand,
It's always warmer on the sun.

Nothing
No, its nothing like that at all.
You could jump in
and allow yourself to be embraced by the magic.
And you know,
God blessed this spot.
This moment in time.
And
God loves this world.
So very much.

Atop a Mountain
I never want to leave.
Relaxed is an understatement.
Inspired most likely.
Amazed, why yes.
Confused...most definitely!
I'm at the top of it all, yet all I can
feel is relaxed? I desire to feel
powerful, but all I can feel is calm?
Where are my leadership skills?
Where's my ruler's defiance?
Where is my strong sense of "I came to
conquer it all?"
I suppose my awe of nature washed it away.
When will it come back? Because
I don't want it.

Guess
throwing strange shadows,
swaying to unheard music,
dark, it falls,
so do not fright,
it cannot take flight
brambles and stumps block its way,
linked to the earth,
so deep its dark
furry creatures hide so deep,
the world above and below,
its secrets it keeps.
